Zinto — Privacy Policy

Zinto (“we”, “the app”) is a private messaging app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. By using Zinto you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

• Phone number — used to create your account and let your contacts find you. Verified by a one-time SMS code.
• Profile info — your name, optional photo, and “about” text that you choose to add.
• Messages & media — text, photos, videos, voice notes, documents, location and contacts you send are stored on our own private server only to deliver them to the recipient.
• Contacts — if you allow it, phone numbers from your address book are matched on our server to show which of your contacts use Zinto. We do not upload names or store your full address book.
• Device tokens — a push-notification token (via Google Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can notify you of new messages and calls.

Permissions we use

• Camera & Microphone — only for photos, videos, voice messages and voice/video calls you make.
• Location — only when you choose to share your location in a chat.
• Contacts — only to find friends who already use Zinto.
• Biometric / device lock — only on your device, to unlock the app if you enable App Lock. We never receive your fingerprint or password.

How we use your information

Only to provide the service — deliver your messages and calls, show your profile to people you chat with, and send notifications. We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising.

Calls

Voice and video calls connect directly between devices (WebRTC). Our server only helps the two devices find each other; we do not record calls.

Data sharing

We do not share your personal data with third parties, except Google Firebase, which only delivers push notifications. Your data is stored on our own server.

Data retention & deletion

Your messages and account remain until you delete them or request account deletion. To delete your account and all associated data, open the app and message the official Zinto account (the verified one with a blue tick) — account deletion and any support are handled right there.

Children

Zinto is not intended for children under 13.
